Rice Millers' Association Distinguished Service Award

The Rice Millers' Association named Dr. Robert Satake recipient of the first RMA Distinguished Service Award, which honours extraordinary contributions to the U.S. rice milling industry.

The announcement was made on June 29 at the 102nd RMA Convention in Florida. RMA Chairman Thomas Ferrara presented the award, which was accepted by Toshiko Satake on her late husband's behalf.
Dr. Satake passed away on Nov 13, 2000, in Japan. He was chairman and chief executive officer of the Satake Corporation and a long standing committed member of the Rice Miller's Association.
In addition to his long-standing service to the U.S. rice industry, Dr. Satake served as chairman of the Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers Association.
