Success for Inaugural IAOM Eurasia Conference

The IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers) held the inaugural Eurasia District Conference in Istanbul from 10th to 12th November 2006. More than 250 milling professionals attended the event, much more than that initial 100 estimate. The Eurasia Division is formulated to expand the influence of the IAOM in to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet States .

Delegates from Turkey joined at the Marmara Hotel with representatives from as far a field as Uzbekistan , Kazakhstan , UAE, Romania , Azerbaijan , Belarus , Kyrgyzstan and many other nationalities. The event started with an evening cocktail reception hosted by the IAOM. Over the next two days educational sessions were given by Kansas State University , Kazakhstan Grain Processors, Satake, Branscan and several others.

Satake used the event to launch their new SNR Rollermill in to the European and Middle East areas. Their presentation focused on new hygiene features, simplified maintenance and redesigned differential belt drive. These features were well received by the audience who clearly appreciated the benefits that it could bring them in their mills.

Running simultaneously with the educational sessions was a table-top trade show showcasing more than thirty specialist companies. The delegates were encouraged to take advantage of the knowledge and experience of the exhibitors to see how milling in their countries could benefit from new technologies.
